The Obameter

For three weeks now, the Obameter’s been tracking the 500-plus promises Barack Obama made during his presidential campaign — and holding him to each one.

So how’s the new president doing? True to his word, he has directed military leaders to end the war in Iraq, signed the fair-wage Ledbetter Act into law, and made good on five other promises. But in his haste, Obama has also broken the very first campaign promise he made: to give the public five days to visit the White House website and weigh in on each bill he’s about to sign. Twenty days into the honeymoon, we’re inclined to let that one go: Obama still has plenty of chances to make it up to us.
