The people who drew the pictures you’ll find on Stuff People Write on Money treat $1, $5, $10, and $20 bills like Post-It notes, jotting down phone numbers, shopping lists, and Lotto results.
Some use their extra cash to voice their political beliefs. Others do their (feeble) best to increase their money’s value a hundred-fold. And, of course, mustaches are a perennial favorite. True: Defacement of currency is a violation of Title 18 of the U.S. Code, and comes under the jurisdiction of the Secret Service. But there’s no law against laughing at someone else’s crimes and misdemeanors.
