WEBSITE: Newseum

“You can never get all the facts from just one newspaper,” Harry Truman wrote, “and unless you have all the facts, you cannot make proper judgments about what is going on.” For those who share that 360-degree impulse, the Newseum — the Interactive Museum of News — offers a very simple (and extremely cool) feature on its website to gather the facts you need.

“Today’s Front Page” presents a map of the world; move your cursor over any area, and the front page from that region’s daily paper appears. The site includes 581 newspapers in 56 countries, from the Leaf-Chronicle in Clarksville, Tennessee, to the Kleine-Zeitung in Klagenfurt, Austria, to Jam-e-Jam in Tehran. The “global village” feels elegantly, vitally real.
