Triple Canopy is calling its latest issue—“Black Box”—a “consideration of how photography is being reframed online.” But it’s also a beautiful art object in and of itself—and a welcome reminder of the wonderful things Web publications (and only Web publications) can do when they take advantage of their medium.
There are slide shows and illustrated essays, a photographic homage to Mark Twain’s Roughing It, a mix-and-match portrait you can make yourself, and an arty audiovisual homage to the platypus. It all adds up to an in-depth look at the ways in which photography is changing the digital landscape (and vice versa).
