Weird Book Room

Isn’t it sort of comforting to know that virtually every subject—no matter how obscure—has had someone take the time to research and write a book about it? As evidence, take a look at AbeBooks’ Weird Book Room, a collection and celebration of everything that’s bizarre, odd and downright weird in book publishing.

And we mean everything: There’re specialized hobby books like The Amateur Taxidermist and The Lost of Towel Origami; cookbooks like Critter Cuisine (how to make dishes “based on the creatures that crawl in our yards at night, swim in our drainage ditches, and flap around in vacant houses”); and, shall we say, unusual how-to books (How to be Pope: What to Do and Where to Go Once You’re in the Vatican). We’re also particularly fond of the featured “Weird Book of the Week” feature; this week’s is The Teach Your Chicken to Fly Training Manuel. (And, oh yes, all of these titles are for sale.) You just can’t make this stuff up, and, thanks to this site, you don’t have to.
