Birds on the Wires

We've all seen the familiar tableaux of birds perched in mysteriously spaced formations on telephone or electrical wires (we’ve always felt it best not to think too much about what they might be plotting). But one inventive man noticed that a particular feathered flock resembled notes in a musical score. He then composed a song using the “melody the birds were creating,” which resulted in this clever and creative Birds on the Wires Web video.

Jarbas Angelli, a Brazilian musician, spied the picture, taken by Paul Pinto, in a local newspaper. He cut the photograph out, and set about matching the birds to appropriate notes. Angelli’s short clip features his own arrangements, but he is careful to give credit where credit is due—to the birds themselves.
