VSL’s April roundup

1. The excellent foreign-language film JCVD, in which Jean-Claude Van Damme plays himself (and delivers the performance of a lifetime), was April’s most popular VSL pick. Who’d have guessed that the “muscles from Brussels” — who’s not exactly known for his acting abilities — had it in him? (Out now on DVD.) To read the original e-mail, click here.

2. A perfectly simple, endlessly addictive webgame called Balldroppings was your favorite VSL:WEB pick this month: Balls drop from a corner of your screen. You draw lines for them to bounce off. The trick is to see how many you can keep in play at any given time, and whether you can tear yourself away from the monitor. To read the original e-mail, click here.

3. Discover blogger Carl Zimmer put together April’s top VSL:SCIENCE pick: seven spellbinding videos of bats flying, landing, walking, and — amazingly — running. (N.B.: Scroll down to see videos of the vampire bats, which are especially impressive.) To read the original e-mail, click here.
