E-mail Help
Q: I signed up for VSL but haven’t received it.
A: Most issues related to e-mail delivery are related to your e-mail service provider’s spam filter. To ensure delivery in the future, please add
vsl@email.veryshortlist.com to your list of Safe Senders. Here’s how:
Microsoft Outlook users: Reading your e-mail with Outlook 2003? You might want to tweak your settings to make sure all the images in the e-mail appear correctly. Just add vsl@email.veryshortlist.com to your safe sender list.
Please select your e-mail provider:
AOL
Hotmail/MSN
Yahoo
Other
AOL:
There is a new spam-blocking feature in AOL 8.0 that will direct e-mails to a junk folder if the sender’s address is not in your address book. This is
probably the reason why you are not seeing your VSL e-mails. Please login to
your AOL account and add “vsl@email.veryshortlist.com” (without the quotes) to your address book.
Hotmail/MSN:
Occasionally the spam filtering program used by Hotmail and MSN will direct VSL e-mails to the junk mail folder. To keep this from happening, we
recommend the following:
- Login to your Hotmail or MSN account
- Click on “Options”
- Click on “Junk E-Mail Protection”
- Click on “Safe List”
- Add “vsl@email.veryshortlist.com” (without the quotes) to your safe list
Yahoo:
Occasionally the spam filtering program used by Yahoo will direct VSL
e-mails to the junk mail folder. To keep this from happening, we recommend
the following:
- Login to your Yahoo account
- Click on “Options”
- Click on “Filters”
- Click the “Add” button
- To the right of “From header contains”, type “vsl@email.veryshortlist.com” (without the quotes)
- To the right of “then . . . Move the message to”, select “Inbox”
- Click the “Add Filter” button
Other e-mail providers:
If you are subscribed to VSL, but are not receiving the e-mails, your e-mail
provider or company e-mail server is blocking them, perhaps because they
think VSL is spam.
What you can do to fix this:
- Get in touch with technical support at your e-mail provider or employer and explain the problem. If they are blocking e-mail from VSL, ask them to stop. One way they can do this by placing vsl@email.veryshortlist.com on an e-mail “safe list.”
- Some Web-based e-mail systems allow you to set your own safe list. Look for it in the settings section and add vsl@email.veryshortlist.com. If you have to enter a complete address, use vsl@email.veryshortlist.com. Some e-mail systems, such as AOL 8.0, require a sender to be in your address book to keep the e-mail from being diverted to a junk mail folder. If your system is like this, add vsl@emailveryshortlist.com to your address book.
- If all else fails, try signing up under another Internet account, or consider changing ISPs to a provider that does not block your e-mail.
